Minnesota Energy Challenge

The Minnesota Energy Challenge is a website-based program run by local nonprofit Center for Energy and Environment. Using the website, Minnesota households can take action to lower their energy use and reduce their carbon footprint. Experts are available to answer any energy questions a visitor might have. Visitors are encouraged to join in a pledge to save energy and money in their homes.

The Minnesota Energy Challenge is a useful tool to organize communities around energy efficiency and show that the community is "walking the walk." Using a team system can show the impact of the community's collective action and motivate households to take action. The team system is an effective way to help spread the word about energy efficiency and conservation. As of March 3, 2011, over 27,000 Minnesota households are taking the Minnesota Energy Challenge!
